Swat Express Way 81km cost 28.3B approved

With international standard Swat Express Way will cost Rs.28.30 billion and will save 2 hours journey between Motorway Col Sher interchange and Chakdara.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak while chairing meeting on Swat Express Way at CM Secretariat Peshawar has approved 81 Km long Express Way which will cost Rs.28.30 billion while its completion will save over 2 hours journey between Motorway Col Sher interchange and Chakdara. Swat Express Way will pass through open and scenic areas of four districts Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan and Malakand. It will be completed under public private partnership (PPP) in three years while land for service road on both sides of Express Way will also be allocated.

Development News: On Thursday meeting PDWP approved 18 development projects with an estimated cost of Rs. 11.781 billion.

The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) under the Chairmanship of Khalid Pervez,  Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday approved 18 development projects with an estimated cost of Rs. 11.781 billion. The meeting was attended by the Administrative Secretaries and Senior Staff of P&D, Finance, Environment, C&W, LG&RD, Health & Higher Education, PHE and Irrigation Departments.

During the anti-polio campaign in which some 2,400 teams were participating, almost 734,000 children were given anti polio drops in 9 districts of KPK.

Anti-polio immunization campaign has been started in nine districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday. The campaign in Peshawar, Charsadda, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshehra, Bannu, Kohat, Tank and Dera Ismail Khan has been launched with the financial assistance of Saudi Arabia.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shifted focus on small hydroelectricity projects in new budget, 680 MW to be produced with completion of 36 hydel projects with an estimated cost of 3.46 Billion.

The Khyber Pukhtunkhwa government in the financial budget 2014-15 has also focused on construction of small electricity dames and for his purpose Rs 3 billion, 46 millions have been reserved for 36 new projects in fiscal budget 2014-15, these projects will jointly produce 680 MW after its completion.

14 training sessions on prevention measures against natural disasters and man-made disasters had also been conducted in Jalozai Camp and in different parts of Peshawar valley.
